More Google Maps data: Photos and Wikipedia

Google Maps adds More function with photos via Panoramio and data from Wikipedia. The feature allows users to add more data to search by selecting Photos or Wikipedia.

A closer look at the function.

When you select Photos, geotagged images will pop out as shown below. Click to enlarge the screenshot.

I just received a Twine invite and will test the service over the weekend.

Twines are smart networks that help you organize, share and discover information around your interests with like-minded people.

I’m still trying to create a profile and exploring twines. Will give reviews and screenshots later.

If a friend sends you an invitation at an email address that is not registered with your LinkedIn account, you may inadvertently create a new account with that email address.

When you log in, you may notice on the right hand side of your homepage a box with the number of users who’ve viewed your profile recently. Once you click on it, you’ll see relevant industry and job background details of the users who’ve viewed your profile. Of course, you have control over what is displayed when you view someone’s profile, ranging from not showing any details, to allowing simple anonymous characteristics, like title and industry, to revealing your full name and headline. You can change your settings here.

So, the basic rules:

  • Be light. No frowns if possible (illness or bereavement permissible)
  • Spell correctly. Otherwise you look like a douche.
  • Don’t use capitals unless your wife has just had a baby
  • No stupid smiley faces.
  • Try stuff which will make people talk to you. That’s the reason you’re on Facebook in the first place, right?
